Prima verblijf .

( normale taxiprijs is 90 euro zagen we).

Studio was schoon, schoonmaak prima.

Great location

Returned from Parga last weekend, we booked a last minute package through JET2 , and stayed at the Margarita . We were dropped at the end of the street and directed to walk up a fairly shallow slope to the hotel. On arrival , you are faced with 2 flights of fairly steep steps to the reception level , we are fairly fir , and it didn't prove to much of an issue , it was a tad warm to be lugging luggage around in that heat though ! If you have mobility issues , bear this in mind , I think the road way is too narrow for the tourist coaches to go up and down . We were met , welcomed and given the chance to purchase air con and a safety deposit box, which , for the price we paid , we didn't object to . From the reception level , there is an elevator to go further up. We used the stairs , but the owner took our bags in the elevator for us. Our room was large , spotlessly clean , quite nicely furnished , a huge bed, a kitchenette , with a great cold fridge, enough basics to make breakfast or a light meal . There was a small tv , which we never turned on, a good sized wardrobe , a small shower room , but it had constant hot water and excellent water pressure , so that was good ! We had a nice balcony overlooking the hills , furnished with a table & chairs . There is maid service 6 days a week , sheet change maybe twice ? Walls are a little thin, we were disturbed twice in the middle of the night with 'noise ' from the neighbours....... The property has a nice pool on the top floor, with nice sunbeds and umbrellas , never any hassle getting a bed . The bar prices aren't too bad , and there are fabulous views from there , there are also showers and toilets there . The Margarita is in a great position , down the gentle slope to the start of Parga , which has so many lovely bars, restaurants , shops , super markets , gift type shops , ice cream parlours etc. Parga really is a lovely place, choice of beaches , albeit they are predominantly shingle , great choices for eating and its easy to get around . It can be a bit hilly in parts , but helps keep the waist line trim !! Sea was beautiful and clean for swimming . We thought the Margarita was perfect , great value for what we paid , especially considering it was mid August ! We would of said everything was perfect , until the last day , we were sitting by the pool , and the owner come up to us, his demeanour had changed , and he said we had ' used the air con too much ....and if you leave it on too long it breaks , and you must pay if it breaks ' We had paid 65 euros for the privilege , we only used it over night twice ( we don't actually like sleeping with it on, the last few nights it became considerably warmer and you needed AC ) and probably were in the room aside from sleeping for a maximum of 3 hours a day at the most . This , did sour our opinion of the hotel somewhat . We were talking to some people we had met there , who too , had previously stayed at Margarita , told them what happened, and they concurred , the same had happened to them when they stayed ! Maybe its his 'thing ' ..... Its a shame , we are very considerate with regards to electricity etc , never wasteful , and this left us with a bad final memory of the Margarita.

Top Tips...

Great location, quiet with lovely swimming pool atop of flights of stairs, with views looking out to the sea. Beware that this would not be ideal if you have any mobility problems as there are plenty of stairs and the walk to the hotel is on an incline. There is a lift but you still need to negotiate steps before you reach it and it doesn't go all the way up to the pool. Also you are dropped off at the end of the road and have to drag your luggage to the hotel yourself. Our room was large, with a balcony, which was well thought out in terms of facilities. It had a hairdryer, TV, cooking utensils etc and even a clothes dryer with pegs on the balcony. Worth noting and requested as soon as you arrive - a week's stay. : €3.50 Greek tax- compulsory and if you want: €15 Safe deposit €60 Air conditioning Staff friendly , although the father chased after us as we were leaving claiming we hadn't paid for a coffee which we had to the son - Not a pleasant end to our time there! Inspite of this, we would stay here again due to location, room size and cleanliness.
